Balkan Youth USA started with a simple dream: a teenager wanted to connect with others across the United States who shared her roots, culture, and heritage. Since Balkan Americans make up less than 1% of the U.S. population, finding people who truly understand the culture can be tough. Motivated by this challenge, she decided to create a social network to bring everyone together, regardless of where they lived or how connected they felt to their heritage. What began as her personal search for community soon became a mission to unite and empower young people across the country, helping them form connections that might not have happened otherwise. This platform acts as a place for young people to celebrate their backgrounds and make real connections with others who share their roots. Members can check out overviews of each Balkan country, find an interactive map of the top 30 authentic Balkan restaurants in the U.S., and join community groups to share music, food, memes, and cultural moments. Whether you want to meet people your age, share ideas, or connect over similar experiences, Balkan Youth USA brings heritage and culture together, helping friendships and networks flourish far beyond state lines.
